Home-Start Central Bedfordshire is a family and children’s charity based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. The charity helps local families with children under the age of five who are dealing with issues including poverty, disability, bereavement and much more.
The charity’s chief executive and board of trustees have worked closely with Paul, our Marketing Director and team for the past three years. During this time we have built Home-Start Central Bedfordshire an effective online presence for both raising public awareness and volunteer recruitment.
How We Helped
In our first conversation with the charity, they told us that “Home-Start is one of the best-kept secrets in the area.” – We are proud to say that this is no longer true. Home-Start Central Bedfordshire, despite being a very established organisation (over 30 years) was not well known within the local community. Two of the charity’s key goals were to raise awareness of their services and recruit volunteers. They now have a stable team of volunteers across the county of over 100 annually. Their online presence is well established and continues to grow as does their charity’s name in the region.
Over the years our team has created and managed many marketing campaigns for Home-Start Central Bedfordshire. All of these have achieved positive outcomes and form part of a customised marketing strategy for their unique goals. As well as ongoing consultancy, we have carried out in-depth research into their industry as well as analysis of their competition. In 2015 Paul, our marketing expert produced a detailed plan outlining the best route forward for continued success. This has since been updated to include fundraising targets.
Since working with Home-Start Central Bedfordshire we have managed all of their online content. This includes the charity’s main website and past project websites. From the start, we ensured that the website would be future-proof and the site has been through several design updates in order to keep up with online user expectations. Their website has since received tens of thousands of visitors and has been an essential resource for gaining new volunteers and supporters.
Over the years, we have refined the charity’s social media presence and now pay particular focus to their Facebook presence. As well as day to day management of their Facebook page we regularly run advertising campaigns on the platform reaching thousands of potential volunteers and supporters each month. At the time of writing, the charity now has one of the largest followings on Facebook of all 288 Home-Start schemes in the UK.
